Thermoplastic Polyurethane Specialty Profile Belts

Hexagonal cross-section polyurethane specialty profile belt, orange

Key Characteristics:
1. Three Cross-Sections – Heptagonal, hexagonal, and joined (dual-groove) profiles in one lineup, for pulleys and tracks that don’t take a plain round belt

2. 100% TPU Construction – High-purity thermoplastic polyurethane throughout

3. Heat-Fusion Joining – Ends join cleanly with a heating iron, no vulcanizing equipment required

4. Optional Core Reinforcement – Nylon or steel core available on the heptagonal profile for resistance to stretching and deformation

5. Strong Chemical Resistance – Excellent wear resistance and resistance to oil, grease, and volatile oils

6. Shore A Hardness: 85A–88A – Depending on profile and color

7. Wide Temperature Range – Operates reliably from -35°C to 80°C (-31°F to 176°F)

Product Description

Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) Specialty Profile Belts Details

Specialty profile belts are thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) drive belts extruded into a heptagonal, hexagonal, or joined dual-groove cross-section instead of a plain circle. Machinery built around a matching pulley groove — some ceramics, packaging, and textile equipment — needs that exact profile to seat correctly and transmit power without slipping.

These profiles are 100% high-purity TPU, so ends join by heat fusion instead of a mechanical splice. The heptagonal profile also comes in a cored version, with a nylon or steel core, that resists stretching and deformation. Hardness runs 85A to 88A depending on profile and color, and all three hold up from -35°C to 80°C (-31°F to 176°F), with strong resistance to oil, grease, and volatile oils.

These specialty profile belts turn up wherever a conveyor or feed mechanism was built around a specific pulley groove rather than a round one — ceramics production, packaging machinery, textile equipment, electronics assembly, food handling, furniture manufacturing, and glass processing are where Pepson’s own data shows them in use.
