Thermoplastic Polyurethane Roller

Pepson polyurethane roller — cast PU coating on a machined steel hub, close-up product shot

Key Characteristics:
1. Cast-to-Core Coating – Polyurethane cast directly onto a customer-supplied metal or plastic core, not sold as a stand-alone part

2. Built to Your Drawing – Core shape, shaft diameter, and coating thickness made to the customer’s specification, not off a fixed size chart

3. Corrosion- and Abrasion-Resistant – Coating protects the core against wear, moisture, and chemical exposure

4. Printing Machinery Use – Common on printing-press conveyor rollers

5. Rotary Machine Use – Also supplied for dust-removal and other rotary equipment

6. Shore A Hardness: 30A–95A – Cast soft for cushioning or hard for wear resistance, depending on the job

7. Operating Temperature: -30°C to 75°C (-22°F to 167°F) – Rated for continuous use across typical factory-floor conditions

Product Description

Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) Roller Details

A polyurethane roller is a metal or plastic core coated in a layer of cast PU, built for jobs where a roller surface needs to grip, convey, or resist wear without marking whatever runs across it. Pepson casts the coating directly onto a customer’s shaft, hub, or cylinder core, with hardness tuned from soft and cushioning to hard and wear-resistant.

Here’s what varies most: hardness. Pepson’s own polyurethane roller listings run from around 30A — soft enough to cushion delicate stock — up to 95A, closer to a hard plastic, both cast onto the same style of core. These coatings are rated for continuous use from -30°C to 75°C (-22°F to 167°F), wide enough for most factory-floor and outdoor equipment. Coating thickness and core dimensions are made to the customer’s drawing rather than sold off a fixed size chart, so the finished roller fits the shaft or housing it’s replacing.

These polyurethane roller coatings turn up wherever machinery needs a surface that resists wear, corrosion, and abrasion — printing presses and general conveyor and material-handling lines among them. Pepson also coats non-standard, customer-supplied parts on request, not just off-the-shelf roller shapes.
