Polyurethane Adhesive & Potting Compound
Key Characteristics:
1. Two-Component Polyurethane System – A base resin (Component A) and curing agent (Component B), mixed to a set ratio and cured into the finished bond or cast compound
2. Bonds Smooth and Porous Surfaces Alike – Cures to a polyurethane with high reactivity and polarity, bonding metal, glass, rubber, and plastic as well as foam, wood, leather, fabric, paper, and ceramics
3. Custom Formulated – Pepson adjusts the resin/curing-agent ratio to a customer’s required performance spec rather than supplying one fixed grade
4. Multiple Application Methods – Mixed resin suits spraying, brushing, dip coating, and roller coating
5. Two Product Forms – Polyurethane Adhesive (Binder), for bonding dissimilar materials, and Polyurethane Potting Compound, for casting/pouring around a part
6. Ceramics, Electronics, and Flooring-Material Use – Both grades listed for ceramics, electrical/electronics, and flooring-material manufacturing; the adhesive grade adds glass, machinery, and rail-transit use, the potting compound adds mining, packaging, and printing
7. No Hardness/Temperature Spec Published – A liquid, uncured two-component system — Shore A hardness and service temperature apply to the cured part, not stated for the raw resin, same content gap as Pepson’s PU Prepolymer line
Product Description
Polyurethane Adhesive & Potting Compound Details
Pepson’s polyurethane adhesive and potting compound are two-component polyurethane systems — a base resin (Component A) mixed with a curing agent (Component B) in a set ratio — supplied for bonding dissimilar materials or for casting and pouring a protective compound around a part. Both cure to the same urethane chemistry; the difference is how a fabricator uses the mixed resin.
Both products are built on the same two-component adhesive chemistry: a base resin and an isocyanate-bearing curing agent that react to form a polyurethane with urethane and isocyanate groups in its molecular chain, giving the cured resin high reactivity and polarity. That chemistry bonds to smooth, non-porous surfaces — metal, glass, rubber, plastic — as well as porous ones — foam, wood, leather, fabric, paper, and ceramics — and the mixed resin can be sprayed, brushed, dip-coated, or roller-coated onto the work. Pepson formulates the resin/curing-agent ratio to a customer’s required performance spec rather than supplying one fixed grade.
Fabricators use the adhesive grade to bond ceramics, glass, rubber, and plastic to metal, wood, leather, fabric, and paper — common in furniture, flooring-material, electrical/electronics, and rail-transit-component manufacturing. The potting compound grade is supplied for the same general bonding chemistry, cast or poured to secure or seal a part in place — used across ceramics, electronics, industrial, mining, packaging, and printing-equipment settings.
