Our client has a significant influence in the industry, with its products widely applied in various fields, including electrical wires and cables, and fasteners, which are core to its business. To ensure high-quality output of its products, the stability and durability of the equipment are crucial, which imposes extremely high demands on the materials used in its equipment.

The challenge

Traditional insulation materials and metal materials have shown limitations in applications such as marine environments. Our client urgently needed to find alternative materials with superior performance to enhance the overall performance and lifespan of its equipment.

During use, the equipment may face harsh environments such as high temperatures and alkaline concentration, and may even need to be used in special scenarios like underwater. Therefore, the materials must have properties such as high-temperature resistance and alkaline resistance to ensure stable operation of the equipment in complex environments.

The materials also needed high strength to avoid brittleness during use and have good safety features and resilience, ensuring that even in extreme situations where failures occur, there is no risk of bursting, keeping operators safe.

Our solution

In response to our client’s needs, we conducted in-depth research and repeated experiments, ultimately determining a high-hardness solution that includes customized processes and innovative formulations for the client.

Through precise selection and proportioning of raw materials, as well as advanced processing techniques, we ensured that the products have excellent comprehensive performance:

  • materials with a Shore hardness of 60D provided good flexibility and resilience while ensuring certain strength, meeting the equipment’s requirements for preventing brittleness in different working conditions; 
  • materials with a Shore hardness of 70D further enhanced strength and wear resistance, making them more suitable for use in high-load and harsh environments.

Results

By adjusting materials and formulations, we not only solved the issues of effectiveness and lifespan of the client’s equipment accessories but also achieved a significant advantage in terms of cost-effectiveness.

Firstly, we significantly reduced the maintenance frequency of the equipment, extending the replacement cycle, greatly reducing downtime and maintenance costs. According to feedback from our client, the lifespan of the equipment has increased several times. The outstanding performance of the new materials in terms of high-temperature resistance, alkalinity resistance, and high strength has made their production process more stable and reliable.

Secondly, we improved the safety of the client’s operational processes. In high temperature environments, the equipment does not affect production precision due to material deformation; in corrosive acidic and alkaline environments, the material’s corrosion resistance effectively extends the equipment’s lifespan; and the high strength and resilience ensure the safety of the equipment during operation, avoiding equipment failures and safety accidents caused by material issues.
